Duolingo

Duolingo makes it easy and fun to learn a new language. Set a daily goal for how long you want to practice a new language and then get started right away. Work your way up from the basics to food and animals, conversational skills, and tenses, and on.

You can also compete against other friends on Duolingo and share your progress on social media. If you already know the fundamentals of a particular language, you can take placement tests to bypass the beginners’ tutorials and quizzes.

The HelloTalk app puts you in touch with native speakers of the language you want to learn, so you’ll be talking with real life teachers from across the globe. It’s like having a pen pal, but in a different language.

With Busuu, you can get language flashcards, writing exercises, and multiple lessons to help you learn the fundamentals of a new language. Premium users can also download the content to view offline, so if you want to practice with the app anywhere regardless of your Internet connection, an upgrade to a premium subscription may be right for you.

Users can also interact with other members by correcting their writing exercises and in turn get feedback on their own writing.
