Streaming sites in Canada aren’t quite as plentiful as those in the United States, but there are still great TV shows and movies available to stream. From mainstream shows to cult classics, there’s something for everyone.

Streaming Sites in Canada

Netflix is a popular choice, though some users were frustrated when the streaming giant decided to crack down on VPN viewing. This cut down available titles from around 7,000 to 4,000. Still, it’s one of the better streaming sites in Canada, though viewers might not be able to view many of their southern neighbor’s shows and movies. Pricing starts at $7.99 per month.

CraveTV is no longer tethered to a Bell TV subscription, which makes it a popular option for streaming. Pricing is just $7.99 per month. One thing that sets it apart from Netflix is the availability of many HBO shows along with some Showtime programming. The service is also beginning to invest in original programming to be a more competitive option.

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video doesn’t have quite the extensive catalog of Netflix, but the streaming site does offer original programming. Prime members can access the service as part of their membership, which comes with other perks. Yearly membership is just $79. The streaming service just launched in Canada in December 2016.

Shudder is one of the many niche streaming sites in Canada and it focuses on horror. Pricing starts at just $3.99, but varies based on subscription length. The service is dedicated to bringing horror fans a wide collection of cult classics that you may not find on any other streaming service. You won’t find many mainstream movies, but you will find plenty of movies to make you shudder.

Club illico

Club illico offers a wide selection of movies and TV shows, but the main difference is the service is focused on French-language content. If you speak and understand French, this service could be a great option for you. Pricing is just $9.99 per month for unlimited access on TV and mobile devices.
